Netflix’s adaptation of the Witcher novels and video games is one of the biggest hits that the streaming network has ever had and fans have been craving season 2 for month. Unsurprisingly, production on the new season was shut down when COVID-19 put all film and TV production into a freeze cycle. Well, we can now report that the thaw is here and Netflix has officially announced that the show will resume filming on August 17th.
There is no way of telling what the late summer startup date will mean as far as when fans can expect the return of Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia to the small screen, but we are hoping that it still makes it to the streamer sometime in 2021. Here’s the official announcement on Twitter:

The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
