There’s some exciting casting news today over at the Netflix The Witcher prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin. It’s now being officially reported that Michelle Yeoh (Gunpowder Milkshake, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Star Trek Discovery) is joining the cast in the major role of Scian. the report describes her as “the very last of her nomadic tribe of sword-elves, she is an artist with the blade, on a deadly quest that will change the fate of the Continent.”
Yeoh will be joining a cast that already includes Laurence O’Fuarain as Fjall, “a warrior who was born into a clan sworn to protect a King,” and Jodie Turner-Smith as Éile, “a warrior turned travelling musician from a rival clan.”
Other than the casting, all we know is that this show takes place 1200 years before the time of Geralt and that the story will focus on the events that lead up to the Conjunction of The Spheres. As what wat that is, we honestly don’t know, but fans of the books are probably drooling with excitement. We’ll have more news for you as it warrants.
