Marvel and Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor” has dominated the box office for two weekends and raked in over $225 million over. In this day and age that’s a victory, so it’s no surprised to hear that a sequel is currently in development with arriving in theaters possibly in 2013.
This would make sense as Marvel’s flagship title and the mother of all summer blockbusters “The Avengers” is set to drop on May 4, 2012. If “Thor 2” sees a 2013 release it would coincide with the release of “Iron Man 3” which is currently planned for a May 3, 2013 release.
According to Cinemablend, the rumor has it that the Enchantress (AKA Amora) and the Executioner (AKA Skurge) are being considered as villains. This would make sense as they are currently the flagship villains in Cartoon Network’s “Avengers: Earth Mightiest Hero” animated series.
We can probably assume that Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as the God of Thunder as he is still under contract by Marvel.
