As I write this, Idris Elba is on a big screen right now, kicking ass in Marvel’s Thor but there’s a good chance that you might see him fighting off aliens along side ‘Son’s of Anarchy’ star Charlie Hunnam in Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim.
Elba has become a pretty hot property lately. He’s been making a name for himself ever since his roles in ‘The Wire’ and “28 Weeks Later”. Several sources also have him currently in competition with Will Smith for the lead role in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming “Django Unchained.”
Right now He’s filming “Prometheus” with Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron. There’s a good chance that you’ll see him at Comic Con this year as well where Marvel has announced that there will be heavy promotion for his recently wrapped “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” with Nicolas Cage.
There isn’t much known about ‘Pacific Rim’, but the basic storyline is about an alien attack that is set in future and will feature what sounds like some serious anime style mecha action.
