TNT has just announced that they’ll be launching a new 2 hour horror block that will include the return of Tales From the Crypt to the airwaves. In a truly horrific turn, TNT is bringing in M Night Shamalayan to make it happen.
Right now, we don’t know much, just that the new, one hour, series will maintain the format of the classic HBO show, but will feature new stories. It will be exec produced by Shyamalan and his production company.
The show is set to launch in the fall and there’s currently no word on what other shows will fill out the block.
Here’s what Shamalayan had to say.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be teaming up with Kevin Reilly, Sarah Aubrey and the entire TNT team in this unique endeavor. To be part of such a beloved brand like ‘Tales From the Crypt,’ something I grew up watching, and to also have the chance to push the boundaries of genre television as a whole, is an inspiring opportunity that I can’t wait to dive into.”
