Just weeks after the earth shattering announcement of the Lucasfilm buy out by Disney, we’re now hearing that a screenwriter from the world of ‘Toy Story’ will be entering the ‘Star Wars’ universe.
According to TV Shark, sources close to those inside Disney have revealed that Michael Arndt has written an extensive draft detailing a plan for the next trilogy of movies that Disney CEO Bob Iger referred to in his announcement.
Arndt, who also wrote ‘Little Miss Sunshine’, won an Oscar for his screenplay to ‘Toy Story 3’ and is a known ‘Star Wars’ fan.
Although no details have been leaked, it’s believed that the story will involve Star Wars three main protagonist Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo.
Arndt is expected to be one of the lead writers on ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ once his drafts are approved and then expanded upon.
