For months now, fans have been hearing about one of the most interesting and original comic book related properties to hit the small screen next season: Powerless. On the off chance that you’ve not heard of it, Powerless focuses on an insurance agency that handles damage claims from super hero related incidents. The show stars Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical/ Spring Breakers/ Suckerpunch), Danny Pudi (Community), and Allan Tudyk (Firefly/ Serenity, Conman, Star Wars: Rogue One) as the boss/ villain of the show.
First impressions of the show are a little mixed. In fact, NBC has yet to officially release the trailer online yet. It’s been posted on YouTube, but quickly pulled down. It could turn out to be very funny. With actors like Pudi and Tudyk, it’s got great potential. Add to that the fun of getting to play in DC’s sandbox and we really could be in for something special. However, I’m just not sure it’s there yet. We just have to hope that NBC gives it a little time to get there.
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
