I’m not sure Transformers would be where it is today if Peter Cullen had never auditioned to play the voice of Optimus Prime. The actor has been lending his voice talents to the world as far back as the 60s and early 70s when he was the announcer on both the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and the Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour. But, it wasn’t until he said the words “Autobots, Roll Out!” in 1984 that he became cemented as a legend in our pop culture heritage. Oh, and here’s a fun little nugget for you. He’s also been the voice of Eeyore for Disney since 1988. Good luck not hearing that either time Optimus or Eeyore talks from now on.
With Transformers: Rise of The Beasts hitting theaters in just four days, a new featurette has been released that puts the spotlight on Cullen as he returns to voice the leader of the Autobots on their latest adventure to stop Unicron from destroying Earth.
