Walt Disney’s highly anticipated sequel/reboot of “Tron Legacy” may be hitting the theaters this December but that doesn’t mean it’ll be the last we hear of Tron. If the film takes off and becomes a box-office hit, we can expect to see a computer animated Tron TV show to follow next year or early 2012.
According to Blue Sky Disney, the new series would be act as a place holder to keep fans interest while the second movie, or possible trilogy, is in development. The TV series has already been greenlite for development but it’s uncertain how many episodes it will actually have. Its success will solely depend on the success of the film and whether it has any leg for a possible franchise.
