With HBO’s sexy vampire drama having recently concluded its 3rd and successful season, there’s been some serious talks about adapting “True Blood” to the big screen.
According to reports, the “True Blood” movie most likely wouldn’t happen until after season 4 or when the show concludes. Series creator Alan Ball is currently eying the film adaptation and has expressed interest in potentially directing the film himself.
This is interesting considering Ball has only been credited for directing two episodes, both from season one, and doesn’t have much credit to his name when it comes to directing full featured films. His last effort was “Towelhead” in 2007 which was moderately received.
At this point, it’s too soon to know the plot for the adaptation, but there is a good chance it will predominately feature the show’s main characters — Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). It’s unknown whether it’d be a series wrap up type movie similar to “Serenity” for Joss Whedon’s failed “Firefly” series or a stand alone “bonus” film loosely tied to the series.
