Deadline is reporting that Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Cassidy/ Carnage who was teased in the after-credits scene of the first Venom film will not be the only bad guy that Tom Hardy and his symbiote will be facing off against in the franchise sequel.
The new film, which will see Andy Serkis take over the director’s chair is allegedly adding in the Marvel Comics character Shriek. As a mutant who can manipulate sound, Shriek poses a serious threat to the sonically-vulnerable Venom. In the Maximum Carnage storyline, Shriek and Cassidy actually teamed up, so there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing Venom facing off against a duo and not just a couple of individual baddies.
Casting is currently underway, but there is no word on who is in consideration for the role.
