When we last saw Paul Bettany’s Vision, he was heading off into the blue skies to discover his true self after battling the Wanda-created hex version of his pre-snap life. There was no way that Marvel was going to leave that thread unpulled and it looks like they’ve finally started to tug on it.
Deadline is reporting that Vision Quest, a series about the character’s continued journey of self-discovery is now officially in development. While development for the series is still in early days (the writer’s room doesn’t even convene until next week), it is already being reported that Elizabeth Olsen will be reprising her role as Wanda Maximoff/ The Scarlet Witch. That brings the timeline of the series into question as her current state of affairs at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is not conducive to much action.
Our big question is whether or not Wakanda will play a part in the new series. It seems like everyone has forgotten that, in the moments leading up to Thanos’ attack on Wakanda in Avengers: Infinity War, Shuri had made a download of Vision’s core programming and possibly his personality. That flash drive was in her hand. Where is it now?
If we don’t find out in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever next week, there’s a good chance we’ll have to wait until the scheduled release of Vision Quest, sometime in 2025.
