Apparently, Marvel Studios’ “The Avengers” isn’t the only superhero team heading to theaters near you. Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment are following suit with their “Justice League” film. According to ComicBookMovies, Warner Bros. has official greenlite the “Justice League” project and is moving forward trying to quietly pursue actors to the roles.
“Justice League” and other DC Superheroes will become WB’s new tent-pole, filling in for the soon-to-be departed long running “Harry Potter” franchise. Fans of DC will now get a chance to see all their heroes unite into one ensemble movie… or won’t they?
“The big surprise is the team roster,” reports CBM. And if their report is accurate, the team will consider of Green Lantern, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter… meaning DC’s “big two,” Superman and Batman, will not be included.
With Both Green Lantern and The Flash already in the works, CBM adds that, “The film will introduce the characters Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter to general audiences… Either Superman or Batman can be eventually written into the script, though at this time the studio is moving forward without their inclusion.”
It now begs to ask, can there really be a Justice League without Superman and Batman? With all the legal troubles surrounding the rights to Superman and Batman currently existing in his own universe, how will fans react to this development? Will WB find a way to bring them into the film? I guess we have at least a year or two until we find out.
Until then, what do you think? Are you happy with a Superman and Batman-less Justice League? Let us know!
