In a recent interview with LA Times, Warner Bros. Pictures president Jeff Robinov revealed their plans to reboot the Batman franchise after the conclusion of “The Dark Knight Rises.”
It’s already expected that neither Christopher Nolan or Christian Bale will return for a fourth film and the studio is already preparing to reinvent the Batman.
We have the third Batman, but then we’ll have to reinvent Batman…Chris Nolan and [producing partner and wife] Emma Thomas will be producing it, so it will be a conversation with them about what the next phase is.
The good news is, it appears that Nolan will still be involved in a production role to help maintain some integrity and depth (because we really don’t need Bat nipples). But I wouldn’t hod my breath as the new Batman reboot would be radically different than what we’ve become accustom to seeing under Nolan’s artistic vision.
