The adaptation of Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner’s “Red” which stars an incredibly sick cast consisting of Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, John C. Reilly and Mary-Louise Parker, is getting a new release date.
According to Variety, Summit Entertainment has selected October 22, 2010 as the premiere date for Wildstorm’s spy thriller comic book series. “The Time Traveler’s Wife” director Robert Schwentke is set to helm the project.
It’s rumored that “Red” will take a funny turn and even Ellis himself offered up tidbits regarding the changes made to the film. According to Ellis, many of the changes were made to better adapt the story into a full-length film.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are producing, with DC exec Gregory Noveck as exec producer. Robert Schwentke’s directing the script by brothers Erich Hoeber and Jon Hoeber.
