In a recent chat with The UK’s Channel 4 about the new film Avatar, Sigourney Weaver opened up a heck of a can of worms about one of the most anticipated movies to hit the rumor mill in a long time. I’m talking Ghostbusters 3. The long awaited and often teased film.
Here’s what she had to say about the film.
“I’m afraid to say it Ghostbusters 3 is happening, I hope people are excited about that. I don’t know if I’m going to be in it, I have had a couple of calls asking ‘would you read the script’.”
So not only does a script exist, but they are confident enough in it that they are letting it pass around between some of the potential cast. That’s a good sign. So what did she learn from it?
“I know that my little son Oscar – who was kidnapped from me – I think he has grown up to be a ghostbuster. I might be in it; I see nothing wrong with being in it, although I don’t think I will have a big part. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it – he’s a ghost.”
Holy crap. That’s a lot to take in. So not only is the little kid who was almost possessed by Vigo potentially going to be a new Ghostbuster, but it look like Venkman is dead! I’m not sure what I think about Bill Murray playing a ghost in the newest Ghostbusters. What do you think?
