When Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wrapped up last season, Phil Coulson was heading off to die in Tahiti with Agent May and Fitz was dead. So what becomes of the team? According to TVline, we now know that the Mack (Henry Simmons) will be the man at the helm.
Here’s what he had to say about the promotion:
“Personally, I love the challenge of being the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” Simmons tells the site. “Mack has worked side-by-side with the people he now leads, and that works to his advantage — he’s one of them. But the one thing that can hinder Mack’s ability to lead is his reluctance to put the people he loves in the line of danger.”
“As a result, this may lead to Mack’s toughest decision as director. What sacrifices will be made?”
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns next summer (after the events of Avengers 4) with 2 final 13 episode seasons.
