In an quest to reboot literally every TV show, comic book, and movie from our childhood, it is now being announced that Will Smith has signed on to Produce a reboot of the show that made him a household name, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
The show doesn’t currently have a home, though the show’s original network, NBC has said they’d be open to talking about it. There’s also no news as to whether this will be a complete reboot or if it will be more along the lines of of the Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World and the upcoming Netflix series Fuller House, in which story lines are picked up 15-20 years down the road.
Personally, I’d love to see Carlton in a new Uncle Phil role. All you’d have to do is swap out the fat jokes for short jokes. That or maybe have a grown up Will Smith (I know that would never happen) who has become a respectable grown up, taking in Jazz’s son after he goes to prison for something very stupid.
