In a recent interview actor William Fichtner (“Armageddon”, “The Longest Yard”, “Elysium”) revealed that he has been cast as the lead villain, The Shredder AKA Oroku Saki, in director Michael Bay’s upcoming and much scrutinized live-action “TMNT” movie.
Wait, Fichtner you ask? But isn’t he… white? Yes, The Shredder will no longer be Japanese. Thank you whitewashing Michael “I’ll do whatever I want” Bay.
Fichtner will be joining a cast that includes Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard and Noel Fisher.
Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, “TMNT” opens in theaters on June 6th 2014.
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
