The moment that fans have thought was coming for months, but Warner Bros has been denying just happened. The studio just dropped a new trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 that doesn’t have much in the way of new footage, but does drop a new release date of December 25th, 2020 in both theaters and on HBO Max.
With COVID numbers spiking and officials expecting numbers to climb even further, Warner Bros has finally figured out what Disney+ keyed into months ago. For at least the time being, streaming is where it’s at. It has previously been announced that Disney+ is debuting their new PIXAR film, Soul, starring Jamie Foxx on their streamer the same day, but now it will have a little bit of competition. Now the question is whether the sequel is enough to juice subscription numbers of HBO Max on the same level that Disney+ has seen. Now the next question is, how much longer before Marvel studios fires back with a streaming release of the long-delayed Black Widow?
For the first time ever, #WonderWoman1984 will release in theaters and stream exclusively on HBO Max* on December 25.
