“Battle: Los Angeles” director Jonathan Liebesman is currently in negotiations with Paramount Pictures to direct the live-action “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot.
The film is described as “a new reimaging” of the comics and cartoon series. Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes Productions (A Nightmare on elm Street, Halloween), will be producing the film based on the script written by “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”‘s Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec. Not much else is known about the film for now.
Liebesman first burst on to the scene last year with his gritty alien-invasion film “Battle: Los Angeles.” While it didn’t quite light up the box office, it proved he had what it took to be an excellent action director.
Liebsman’s most recent directorial duty includes “Wrath of the Titans,” the sequel to “Clash of the Titans.”
While I’m not sure if he’s the right fit, who’s to say he isn’t capable? It certainly would be interesting to see what he could do with the material. Do you think Liebesman is the man for the job?
