Variety is reporting that WB has hired Bill Birch to write the script for the studios reboot of the classic Shazam Hero.
“Get Smart” director Peter Segal remains onboard to direct; he’ll also produce with his Callahan Filmworks partner Michael Ewing. Geoff Johns will co-write and consult on the project.
Sgal had actually been working on his own draft of the film three years ago. One of the nicest things we’ve heard about the project is that the studio isn’t looking to make something totally new, they are looking back at the original comics to make sure they get the look and feel right.
He can't fully replace Stevenson, but let's hope he brings something great to the role.
Who's face is that?
Pre-Orders open on January 9th.
