I don’t usually put full headlines in caps like that, but holy crap, this is great news! If you’ve not seen the first two seasons of Young Justice, I suggest you get off your butt, then go sit in front of the TV, on your butt, and binge it now. Next to Bruce Timm’s Batman series, Young Justice might be the best DC animated series ever made.
The announcement came down from Warner Bros animation a little while ago that a third season for the show has been greenlit, nearly four years since season 2 ended on a cliff hanger. Running the show as producers will be the original creators of the series, Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman. While the pair weren’t going to give out any real details about the show, they did have this to say:
“New twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team, but most importantly, the opportunity for fans to finally continue the adventures of some of their favorite Super Heroes.”
What made the show so special was that it didn’t feel like a kid’s cartoon. Young Justice dealt with death, betrayal, and a host of seriously mature themes, all while delivering tremendous action.
We have no details on when to expect the show or which voice actors will be returning, but you can be sure that we’ll bring you that news as soon as it’s released.
