Reports are coming in saying that Zack Snyder will direct the new Warner Bros. produced Superman reboot in Vancouver.
According to The Globe and Mail:
“[Zack Snyder’s] next feature’s coming here,” said Peter Leitch, chair of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of BC and president of North Shore Studios and Mammoth Studios.
Leitch would not name Superman: Man of Steel as the film in question, but a source has confirmed that the next film in the Superman franchise will be shot in Vancouver next year, with production likely beginning in the summer.
Vancouver is as good as any place to shoot a superhero film. Believe it or not, it’s not all just snow and wasteland in Vancouver. There’s actually a great city that could double as an excellent Metropolis with a little CGI.
The Superman reboot is still in early development with a tentative release date in the winter of 2012.
