Zooey Deschanel To Be Cast in New ‘Spider-Man’ Movie?

Word around Hollywood is that Emma Stone might have some company on the set of ‘Spider-Man’.

Sources are buzzing that Marc Webber, the film’s director wants Zooey Deschanel for the role of Betty Brant, Personal assistant to J Jonah Jameson.

Here’s what the source told Showbizspy:

“Betty was a minor character in the previous Spidey movies but Marc has big plans for her. He wants a strong performer to carry the role and Zooey fits the bill perfectly. The role is hers if she wants it.”

If she joins the cast, she’ll fill up the other major female role in the film as there will be no Mary Jane Watson in the movie.

With Zooey, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield and the possibility of Sally Fields and Martin Sheen… this i turning out to be quite a cast.
