National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Price $19.95
This is the third year of the National Lampoons Ornaments and they just keep getting better and better. This year’s ornament features the Griswold family car as it carries the ridiculously sized Christmas tree back home. When you push a button on the rear, it even plays the theme song from the movie! To give you an idea of how collectible these are, the ornament from two Christmases ago (The RV) is selling on eBay for around $200.00

Putty Tat Trouble
Price $17.95
Every Christmas Tree needs a bird in it. Real ones poop too much, but Tweety Bird is always welcome. This year’s Tweety Bird ornament features the little guy sitting in his cage and singing his Sweet little Puddy Tat song. If you are a Looney Toons fan, you need this one on your tree.

Fisher Price Play Family House

Price $17.95
This isn’t the fanciest ornament out there, but it is great for people who remember toys from before they had wireless controllers and needed 12 AA batteries. I remember this toy house from when I was a kid and Hallmark did a great job recreating it. It has a couple of great features too. First, you can actually open it up and they have the who inside of the house as well. Also, we thought it was a great touch to have a working doorbell (non-electronic)

Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back (Slave 1)
Price $29.95
We chose the Slave 1 for a couple of reasons. First, it’s the feakin Slave 1! We love all things Boba Fett. Next, they really did capture a lot of great detail for such a small ornament. Finally, how rare is it that you get something involving Boba Fett that actually includes several phrases of his dialogue from the movies!

Mickey Mouse: Clock Cleaners
$34.95
This was probably one of our top two ornaments of the year. The ornament, which features Mickey, Donald and Goofy faithfully recreates the action from the classic Disney short “Clock Cleaners”. It is probably one of the most intricate pieces Hallmark has put out this year. Everything moves on it from the characters to several parts on the watch. It also includes the music from the cartoon as well. What made this ornament so special to us was that it wasn’t just a button. In keeping with the classic nature of the cartoon, you actually turn a crank to make the action. Also, we loved that this ornament, more than most others, really had something fun to show off from every angle.

Green Lantern
$14.95
This was kind of a mixed back year for Green Lantern. We just wrapped up some of the biggest comic book stories ever in the Lantern World and then we topped it all off with one of the worst comic book movies ever made. We liked this ornament because it gives us a throwback Green lantern that isn’t Ryan Reynolds. Besides, Red and Green are the official colors of Christmas, It only makes sense if you outfit your tree with all the color appropriate heroes you can find.

Adrian Peterson
$17.95
Of all the NFl players, why pick Adrian Peterson? Well, there’s three NFL players that have been made into ornaments this year: Peterson, DeMarcus Ware and Troy Pomalu. Peterson just happened to be our favorite. The point is, they are making NFL players into Christmas Ornaments… how freaking cool is that?

Peanuts “Christmastime is Here”
$34.95
If Clock Cleaners is our #2 favorite ornament than the Peanuts “Christmastime is Here” ornament is the hands down #1 ornament. This ornament captures what has to be one of the #1 iconic holiday images ever put on Television. Just pull the string and you are in for a treat. Not only do you get a few bars of the ornament’s namesake song from the Charlie Brown Christmas Special, but you also have a lot of action going on. In the center, Lucy is doing spinning on her skates while, all around her, Charlie Brown, Linus and Snoopy are all sledding around the perimeter of the ornament. If there is one warning that we could give you about this one it is to buy extra batteries because it is going to be the one ornament that EVERYONE wants to play with.

Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys is one of the coolest and most memorable Christmas specials of this or any other generation. Forever Fun has put a lot of great Christmas product out there to help keep the cartoon close to your hearts, but this ornament set is the best way to keep it close to your tree! There’s not too much to say about this. These are great ornaments and look way cooler than those little red and green balls that are probably sitting there now. Included in the set are: Humble Bumble, Girl Elf with present, Boy Elf with candy canes, Skinny Santa, Hermey with snowflake, Baby Rudolph on nest, Santa in sleigh, Santa’s Christmas Tree and Young Buck Rudolph with harness.

Rudolph Ultimate Figurine Collection

We love toy sets that have a lot of play value, and you can’t get much more play value than a set that includes 15 different pieces. Forever Fun, the company who did the amazing Rudolph ornaments also did some great toys to go along as well. Each character from the classic cartoons are created with care and a lot of detail. The kids we put them in front of, absolutely loved them. We actually found that these toys have two purposes. First, they are just a lot of fun for little kids to play with. Now, here’s the bonus. If you also have the ornaments, you can keep your kids from pulling them off the tree by giving them these toys. If there’s any warning, we’d say to keep these toys to kids 4 and up, a two year old go a hold of a couple of them and they are now recovering in Santa’s Toy hospital.

Included in the set are: Humble Bumble, Girl Elf with present, Yukon Cornelius, Boy Elf with candy canes, Skinny Santa, Fireball, Standing Rudolph, Charlie-In-The-Box, Mrs. Claus on throne, Casual Santa on throne, Hermey with snowflake, Baby Rudolph on nest, Santa in sleigh, Santa’s Christmas Tree and Young Buck Rudolph with harness.

Rudolph Poseable Figures

You’ve probably seen the PVC figures and the ornaments that Forever Fun has created in other parts of the holiday guide, but we also wanted to show that they made some toys from the Rudolph cartoons that were a little more intricate. These poseable figures are a great gift for your kids once they hit the 6+_ year range. We played with the Rudolph and Hermes figures and thought they were created really well. The articulation was good considering the 3″ size of the figure and that they are meant for kids. Paint was also done really well, with no signs of sloppiness to speak of.

Along with Rudolph and Herme, you can also get Sam the Snowman. All three come in bole regular and deluxe versions.

Peanuts Poesable Figurines

If there is one Christmas Special that is and will always be loved more than any other it is the Peanuts Christmas Special. Forever Fun has done a great job of givin us some excellent toys to slide under the tree to help us remember it. We had a chance to check out the Snoopy and Woodstock figure which comes with Snoopy’s snow covered house. We loved the design and paint work that they did on the figure and feel that these are not only great toys for kids, but they also make excellent holiday decorations on their own.

The available figures are: Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, and linus. All figures come in regular and deluxe versions.

Peanuts Holiday Manger Set

I know that this is a set of figures at heart, but I’m going to call it more of a holiday decoration than anything else. Forever Fun has given us a great display piece for the mantle or just about any other place you put your holiday decoration… well maybe not next to your menorah, but that’s a whole other story. We just loved the set. it is put together really well and painted beautifully. The only word of caution is to be careful with the background because it is cardboard and you’ll want it to last more than just this Christmas season.

Included in the set are: This is a great holiday display piece and includes an easy-to-assemble Nativity backdrop. Features Charlie, Lucy, Woodstock, Linus, Sally, Franklin, Pigpen, Schroeder and Snoopy! This exclusive set features these extra accessories: the Pathetic Tree and the Build-A-Christmas Tree.
