There are certain things that we can say as reviewers that a company could probably not ever say about themselves. We are going to come out and say it. Level Up Sabers makes, hands down, the best lightsabers we have ever had the pleasure of holding in our hands. It beats anything we’ve held from other independent makers and blows replicas from Disney, Hasbro, and Master Replicas so far out of the water that it’s not even a fair comparison. Master Allen is an artist and a technician. We had the chance to try out three of his sabers and we are already saving up to buy some others. Level up has beautiful character-inspired sabers that don’t stop at your favorite Star Wars characters that range from OG characters like Luke, Leia, Obi-wan, and Darth Maul, to newer characters like Kylo Ren Cal Kestis, Darth Revan, the Inquisitors, and Kannan Jarrus. He’s somehow even managed to make a Sailor Moon lightsaber! No matter the saber, the solid metal construction is flawless and they just feel great in your hand.
As great as they look, a good lightsaber comes down to functionality. From the satisfying powering on, to the lightning-fast reactions to the slightest wrist movements, we were equally impressed with all of these lightsabers. Let’s not also forget that the blades are super bright and super durable. We held several duels while we were testing out these lightsabers and we were amazed that they stood up to the punishment that we provided. The blades look like a standard lightsaber blade, but they also offer a black saber blade that works with a few specific hilts. You can get blades that range from 24-36″ long, but they generally recommend 28″ unless you know you need a different length.
Last, but not least is the electronics behind these lightsabers. We already talked about how reactive the lightsabers are, but you have to understand. Just because you might have one blade, doesn’t mean you can’t give it a different soul. Every saber comes loaded with the ability to cycle through multiple power-up and shut-down animations, multiple color schemes, and multiple action modes, and they come pre-loaded with the lightsaber sound fonts for Kylo Ren, Rey Skywalker, Darksaber, The Cunning Warrior, Darth Maul, Talon Malicos, Ben Solo, Dark Rey, Dooku, The Bold (Kenobi), Darkness, Return of the Jedi (Luke), Cal Kestis, Leia Organa, Darth Revan, Star Killer, Ascension, The Last Jedi, Statis v2, Phoenix v2, Luke Skywalker, Vader, Darkside Revan, Sword Font, and more. You can even upload if you like.
This is, by far, the longest review that we’ve written for this year’s guide, and that’s for good reason. If you love lightsabers (and we do), you know there are a lot of factors that go into what makes a lightsaber worth owning. Master Allen and Levelupsabers are as good as it gets. If you have anyone in your life who loves Star Wars and you need a gift to beat all others this year, you cannot go wrong with any of their lightsabers.

Pindaloo turned out to be one of the most universally enjoyed items that we reviewed for this year’s guide. It’s a simple game that can be played by anyone from kids to grandparents. It doesn’t rely on batteries (unless you are using the light-up Neon version), and it’s just kind of infectious in how much fun it is. Think of it as a combination of juggling and the classic ball in a cup game. You flip the balls up into the air from the u-shaped pipe and you catch it on the other side of the pipe.
