First look at Mattel’s ‘Superman: Man of Steel’ Prototype Figure

Here’s your first look at an upcoming Superman “Man of Steel” prototype figure from Mattel. Based on the number of articulation and and lack of knee articulation, it would appear as if this is a 5″ basic Superman for kids rather than the adult collectors friendly 6″ Movie Masters, which Mattel may or may not release.

The figures reminds me a lot of the previous “Superman: Returns” Superman figure which featured the likeness of Brandon Routh. The new figures have the updated 52-style texture look and comes with a cloth cape. It has your basic 5 points of articulation and all in all, looks to be a pretty disappointing figure. But that’s kind of Mattel’s MO if you haven’t learned that by now after seeing their basic Green Lantern figures from a year ago.
