Figures.com recently had the chance to speak with NECA’s Head of Product Development, Randy Falk on their recently acquired New Line horror license, the reveal of their new license to produce action figures for the “Clash of the Titans” remake, and more.

According to Falk, NECA has re-acquired the rights to both slasher icons Freddy and Jason. The new Michael Myers however, will not be a part of the New Line franchise (NECA does have the rights for the classic Michael Myers).

NECA is currently working on figures for the the “Nightmare on Elm Street” reboot and at least two figures will be out for the release of the film with possibly more to follow. “We have also begun work on a definitive classic original ANOES Freddy to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Elm Street franchise. There will be more news on both Jason and Freddy come Toy Fair,” says Falk.

NECA’s popular Cult Classics will continue in 2010. However there will be some changes particularly with the removal of larger bases and accessories. Expect a more streamlined package in the upcoming Cult Classic: Icons which will feature re-releases of fan favorite 7″ collectible action figures. For Cult Classic enthusiasts/collectors, these re-releases will also feature “something new or fresh” such as the Beetlejuice in Wedding Tux, which had never been released before.

Expect two different Icons assortments to hit in 2010 along with an assortment of Gremlins. All Cult Classics will be set at the $9.99 price point.

Outside of Cult Classics NECA will also be working on at least five different movie licenses for 2010 which includes figures for the “Clash of the Titans” reboot. Below is your sneak peek at the upcoming Perseus figure from “Clash of the Titans” series.
