A few weeks ago, Mattel announced that they’d be releasing a set of hero figures that shine a light on the first responders to the COVID-19 Crisis. Now, Funko has just announced that they will also be releasing figures to commemorate the nurses and doctors who have been working hard to treat hundreds of thousands of people who have fallen ill with the COVID-19 virus.
Along with the release of the new Pop! Heroes figures, Funko has also donated an undisclosed amount to GlobalGiving, a 501c non-profit organization based in the United States that provides a global crowdfunding platform for grassroots charitable projects.
More about Global Giving:
GlobalGiving makes it possible for local organizations to access the funding, tools, training, and support they need to become more effective at making our world a better place. Since 2002, more than 950,000 donors to GlobalGiving have raised more than $430 million to support more than 24,000 projects in 170 countries. They currently work with 300 partners in 76 countries, on what they say is most important in their communities, whether it is: personal protective equipment, sanitation, and/or meals.
