Good news everyone, “Doctor Who” fans will be able to use a Sonic Screwdriver for real on Wii and DS this October.
BBC Worldwide and Blue Ocean have teamed up to produce a Wiimote expansion modeled after Doctor Who’s all purpose device. The attachment will be released in October to coincide with the release of Doctor Who: Return to Earth — the first Doctor Who video game developed exclusively for the Wii. Both Matt Smith and Karen Gillan will lend their likeness to the game and take part in brand new storylines created by the “Doctor Who” production team.
Additionally there will also be a DS stylus modeled on the screwdriver while accessory packs will feature official artwork of the Doctor and Amy Pond.
Expect them all to launch in October.
