Nike Will Release Self-Lacing Nike MAG McFly Sneakers By 2015

Nike surprised a lot of people with their announcement that they were going to release the Nike MAG sneakers from “Back to the Future II.” But then that excitement turned to anger when people learned that they were only going to be released in extremely limited numbers and at an auction setting for a lot of money, which in turn are going to be resold on the secondary market for even more.

But recently we’ve learned that good things come to those who wait. According to super famous shoe engineer Tinker Hatfield (inventor of the original PUMP shoe as well as the MAGs), this is only the first wave of MAG sneakers and that Nike does plan to release. While the 2011 version doesn’t self-lace, fans can expect an upgraded version with this feature by 2015.

If this is the case, then the self-lacing technology will exist by 2015, the same year Marty McFly actually got his own pair of Nike MAGs!!!

From Facebook:
“Then, NIKE MAG designer, and all around LEGENDARY shoe engineer (he invented the original PUMP shoe!), Tinker Hatfield came out to be interviewed by Joel about the MAG. Tinker insists that these are the first generation of the MAG shoes, and by 2015, the REAL Nike MAG will be released with SELF LACING ABILITY just like in the movie!”
