Earlier this year Playmates Toys announced intentions to produce toys based on “Terminator” and “Terminator 2” in 2010. The fate of future Terminator toys however, depended on the success of Playmates’ “Terminator: Salvation” toy line which was released in the spring.
Asked if these Skynet collectibles were still a go, Adam Key, Product Manager, Boys Division delivered the sad news, “Unfortunately there will be no new releases for Terminator this year. Most retailers are still carrying the spring items, but the line won’t be refreshed. We also will not be moving forward with the T1 and T2 licenses.”
