The wave two figures from McFarlane Toys’ Princess Bride line dropped for pre-order today and the sculpts are Inconceivable. McFarlane does an amazing job on sculpts, but their likenesses have been really shabby as of late. The Netflix Geralt of Rivia figure, the new Batman figures of Robert Pattinson, and these Princess Bride figures. They’ve all been really soft, and just not good. The Inigo Montoya figure looks more like Disney’s Captain Hook than Mandy Patinkin. every attempt at giving someone a five o’clock shadow that they’ve made in the last year looks like someone is just shading in the faces with charcoal. Even the blood apps look like someone just went a little crazy with some red nail polish. What pains us s that we know they can do better. The sculpts on their DCEU figures like the recent wave from The Suicide Squad, were not perfect, but they were much better.
Anyways, The new wave includes bloodied versions of Inigo and Westley figs, a Princess Buttercup figure in the wedding dress, a repaint of Andre The Giant’s Fezzik in a cloak, and a Vizzini figure.
