Toy Fair 2012 gives us the best look since SDCC at the upcoming Matty Collector Subscription Voltron set. Opinions are still pretty mixed on it. As much as I wanted to be excited for them, I was underwhelmed when I saw them in person last year in San Diego. They just seem too… plasticky. I want more metal in my Voltron, especially for that price tag. Ironically, I was more impressed with the Voltron toys for the new cartoon… which I’m not sure are even coming out. They at least felt like more care had gone into giving them a nice amount of detail.
Still… and I mean this in a purely platonic kind of toy collector way… if I woke up and found this Voltron in my bed after a night of hard drinking… I wouldn’t kick it out of bed for eating crackers.
