Finally, an animal head for your wall that PETA won’t throw red paint at. Aww… who am I kidding, they’ll still find some reason to hate it. These amazing pieces of work art the brainchild of conceptual artist, Shauna Richardson. For the last couple of years Richardson has been working to create crochet sculptures that replicate traditional hunting trophies. She came up with the idea while tinkering with her personal philosophy: Anything can be art.
Turns out that the Olympic committee agrees. They’ve commissioned her to create a 16 meters long and 4 meters high (52 by 13 feet), sculpture of 3 giant lions that will be premiered at the 2012 Olympic games in London.
