While there’s a lot of news lately about the amazing things that are happening in the world of prosthetic limbs thanks to 3D Printing and microprocessors, there’s not too much focus on the weirdos who have real vision to know that sometimes getting a replacement hand is nice, but getting a bionic Nerf Gun is Awesome!
The device was created for amputee, Nicolas Huchet, by the hacker collective, Hackerloop. It works by firing off missiles in conjunction with muscle contractions that are picked up by an electromyogram (EMG) sensor and Arduino circuit board. The sensor measures electrical activity generated when Nicolas contracts the muscles on his forearm.
The gun hand is currently just a prototype. We can’t wait to see it when it’s complete. There’s not a round of Office Warfare that he won’t dominate.
