In a story that is either really cute, or a horrible misappropriation of public resources, a town was spurred into action when a small child called 911 to warn them about The Grinch’s plan to steal Christmas after watching YouTube clips of the classic Dr Suess Cartoon.

The call into the Mississippi 911 dispatch went something like thisL

“I just want to tell you something. Watch for that little Grinch. Because the Grinch is gonna steal Christmas, okay?”

That would normally have been the end of it, if not for some highly amused law enforcement officials who decided to take assuaging Tylon’s fears into their own hands. A couple hours later, they showed up at Tylon’s door, asking for the little boy who was watching The Grinch.

The officer then went on to thank tylon for the warning and to let him know that his warning helped protect her from him. In fact, they had captured the Grinch and, thanks to his call, Christmas will now be safe.

If that was the end of the story, it would be cute enough, but the cops still had one more trick to pull. They invited Tylon and his family down to the police station for a tour, but when they got there, they were treated to the sight if a Grinch in the back of a police car. To put the cherry on top, they even let Tylon lock him up!

In the end, it was a cute holiday memory for the cops and Tylon’s family. That said, someone needs to teach that kid when it is and isn’t appropriate to call 911.
