They are called SeaBubbles and they might be the most adorable taxis ever created. And, this summer, they are set to be the hottest thing on the waterways of Paris. The new green transit vehicles run on
battery power and are propelled by a set of “wings” that are submerged below the water’s surface. The vehicles are silent, don’t generate waves, run at around 20 mph, and can travel 50-62 miles.

Special docks are being prepared along the River Seine where you’ll be able to load up to four people into a taxi and the promise is that pricing should be comparable to Uber. One of the biggest proponents of the new vehicles is Paris Mayor, Anne Hidalgo. She said, “I really believe in the development of river transport. Most of the world’s big cities were built on riverbanks, an advantage we have to use to reduce our reliance on polluting car.”
