If you saw last night’s Walking Dead, you may have already seen this, but if you haven’t it’s time to get ready for the next big series from AMC.

Having never really read the original comics that the new show is based off, I can’t really speak to it’s authenticity, but I am pretty excited based on the little bit that we’ve seen here. This is also a nice surprise given that Seth Rogen is attached and the last time he was attached to an adaptation, it was The Green Hornet.

Based on the twisted and popular ‘90s comic book franchise of the same name, “Preacher,” created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, is the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper, Agent Carter) a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun, This Is England) embark on a journey to, literally, find God. The Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios co-production was developed for television by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (“This Is the End,” “Superbad,” “Neighbors”) and showrunner Sam Catlin (“Breaking Bad”). The series is set to premiere mid-2016.
