Here’s your first look at some zombies (what else?) from AMC’s much anticipated live-action adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s “The Walking Dead” horror-drama comic book series. Production is currently going on in Atlanta for the six episode series directed/written/produced by three-time Oscar nominee Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption).

Andrew Lincoln, will star as Rick with Jon Bernthal laying Rick’s partner and best friend. Steven Yeun will play Glenn. Laurie Holden (The X-Files, The Shield” will play Andrea. While Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break) will play the female lead opposite Bernthal, as Lori Grimes, the wife of Rick.

In addition to set images, we have also included a behind-the-scene teaser for the series. For more information, check out AMC’s Walking Dead blog and facebook page.

The Walking Dead is set to premiere in October 2010, during AMC Fearfest, the network’s annual blockbuster marathon of thriller and horror films.

From Wiki:
The Walking Dead is centered around Rick, a small-town police officer from Cynthiana, Kentucky, his family, and a number of other survivors who have banded together in order to survive after the world is overrun with zombies. As the series progresses, the characters become more developed, and their personalities shift under the stress of a zombie apocalypse. Fighting growing despair — and sometimes each other — the group searches for a secure location which they can finally call home.
Based off the comic series from Robert Kirkman, Walking Dead follows a band of apocalypse survivors as they make their way through the zombie-infested South, lead by a small-town police officer Rick Grimes.
