Obvious news is obvious. Fox announced that it has officially picked up Zooey Deschanel’s “New Girl” for a full season by ordering an additional 11 episodes bringing the series to a 24-episode season order.
“We love the charming Zooey Deschanel and the entire cast, we’re knocked out with the work that Liz Meriwether and the whole staff is doing and we are really psyched about the upcoming episodes in the pipeline,” says Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment.
“It’s great that audiences have responded so positively so far and we’re confident that even more people will embrace the show and more comedy on Fox this season.”
The “New Girl” became Fox’s highest-rated fall sitcom in 10 years about premiering to 10.08 million viewers last week, and pulled in 9.26 million viewers for its second episode on Tuesday.
