As we recently learned, we are going to have to wait until Halloween to see season two of the Netflix hit series, Stranger Things. The question is, how far out is the story planned and is there an end in sight? In a new interview between EW and The Duffer Bros, this exact subject came up. While popular shows seem to go on for anywhere from 7-10 seasons (or 26 if you are The Simpsons), the bros realize that it would be a stretch to take the story of Will Byers and his friends past 4-5 seasons.

“Everything changes as we move forward so we’ll see,” says Ross Duffer. Adds Matt Duffer, “I want it to have a really finite ending. I don’t want it to be one of those shows that runs out of gas and they lose it because they’re losing interest. You wanna end when you’re on top.”

The first season of the show was set in 1983. We know that season 2 takes place in 1984. If the format holds, that means the show is going to end in 87-88. They’ll have to endure the upside down, but they’ll manage to evade Crystal Pepsi.
