Crock-Pot® Smart Slow Cooker with WeMo

We love Crock Pot. I’m pretty sure that we’ve featured them almost every year that we’ve had a guide. Who would have thought that you could actually do new things with a Crock Pot? This year we tested out their new Smart Slow Cooker with WeMo. I want to be clear on this. The WeMo connectivity is cool. It actually lets you change the temp and cooking timers remotely from an app on your phone. That said, this is just a great crock pot whether you use the app or not. We’ve cooked about five different big meals ranging from short ribs to chicken and rice and we haven’t been let down yet. When we say big meals, that’s because this is a six quart crock pot. That is pretty huge in the world of crock pots. If there’s any concern about this new model is that it’s a bit of a space hog, but we’ve been using it so much that it feels justified. Don’t be intimidated by the technology of WeMo, it actually can be really helpful if you have a work schedul that often delays the end of your day. Embrace it, or at least embrace the greatness of the new Crock Pot.

Waring Wine Chiller and Warmer

If you drink wine or you are friends with someone who drinks a lot of wine, you know how crucial the right temperature is for your wine drinking experience. If it’s too warm or two cold, you miss out on a lot of the flavors that make that that particular variety special. The new Waring Wine Chiller and Warmer makes sure that every bottle is the perfect tempurature. In fact, it has a computer in it that knows the exact perfect tempuratures for 33 different varieties of wine. All you do is pop the bottle into the chiller and select the variety on the screen. Then, it will automatically begin to warm or chill your wine to the perfect temp. It even keeps it at that temp until you are ready to pop it open. This might be a little too good to use as host gift. Chances are, you’re much better off keeping it for yourself.
