Yesterday, we got a 12 second teaser for Marvel’s Defenders on Netflix, but just a little while ago, we got the whole first trailer. Along with first looks as Sigourney Weaver as The evil Alexandra, we also now seemingly have confirmation that Elodie Yung’s Elektra is back and probably (temporarily) evil. The trailer also shows us how Matt and Jessica meet up and how Luke Cage and Iron Fist are introduced (Claire Temple), but there’s no telling exactly how all four of them come together, at least not yet.
Overall, it’s a decent trailer, but it doesn’t really get you excited like you’d expect the TV version of The Avengers meeting should. Still, I’ve got a lot of hope and I can’t wait to see more.
Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together. The Netflix original series will launch globally on August 18, 2017.
