While a lot of people weren’t wowed by the back half of Luke Cage’s first season on Netflix, and no one seemed to care for The Defenders, it was still a lot better than Iron Fist and a second season is coming our way on June 22. Today we got the first full trailer for the series and there is still a lot of reason to wonder if the new episodes will redeem the series or put a nail through Cage’s nearly impenetrable skin.
The trailer opens with Luke enjoying all the joy of being a local legend. He’s cleared his name and has become a celebrity in Harlem. Of course, that means that something bigger and badder is just around the corner.
After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.
Joining Mike Colter (Cage) this time around are: Misty Knight (Simone Missick) Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), and Ron Cephas Jones (Bobby Fish).
