Fans are not happy about Spider-Man’s removal from the MCU after yesterday’s dispute between Disney and Sony spilled out into the media. Unsurprisingly, a new petition has popped up on Change.org to show both studios how much keeping Tom Holland’s character in the MCU means to everyone who loves the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
When I got an email about the petition just a few minutes ago, it was at just over 10,000 signatures. Now, it is clocking in at 26,460 and climbing by the second. In fact, in the time it took me to write that sentence, the number has already climbed to 26,658! That’s over 200 in just a minute.

After the news today that Sony walked away from their deal with Disney, I cannot in good faith stand by while Spider-man and his fans around the world become collateral damage. Spider-man in the MCU has brought some of the best moments in modern cinema history. SONY you must let go of this property or renegotiate with Disney to keep all of the fans happy.
