The Czech Republic is a very popular destination for film makers, and that’s good news, because the country has just announced that they are restarting film production with new COVID-19 rules. This news is especially good for fans of great TV, because there are a ton of excellent series that can now look at getting back to work.
The biggest series on our radar is Marvel’s Falcon and Winter Soldier. They were already shooting in Prague when the shutdown hit. Other shows filming in the area include. Amazon Prime’s Carnival Row with Orlando Bloom, the new series based on Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time, Justin Kurzel’s war thriller Ruin, starring Margot Robbie and Matthias Schoenaerts, the Netflix feature 473 Transatlantic and Danish period epic Margrete – Queen of the North, starring Trine Dyrholm as 15th century monarch Margrete I.
Now, just because they can, doesn’t mean they will. Look for one production to pop up as the canary in the coal mine in the next month or two, followed by a cautious crowd as they continue to assess safety.
