Chet Phillips’ Unnatural History Series Puts A Darwinian Spin On Pop Culture

Chet Phillips has a knack for taking creatures and presenting them in artistic, yet scientific style. His latest series of Unnatural History take characters from Pop Culture properties like My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Monononke, Aliens, Stranger Things, ALF, The Muppets, and others, and presents them as they would have been seen in an old-fashioned beastiary not unlike what you would have seen in the drawings of Charles Darwin in the 19th century.
