Thinkgeek is the mecca of geeky merch and a staple in the fan community… and I’m not just saying that because they distribute my Dark Chocolate Sriracha candy bars. Today, a huge announcement has hit that could mean major change for the site. Hot Topic has announced that they’ll be purchasing Thinkgeek.
The move makes a lot of sense for Hot topic as they’ve been expanding into more and more pop culture licenses in the last few years. It will be really interesting to see how the two brands come together and what it will mean for ThinkGeek in the long run.
The total value of the sale is around $122 million and is set to take place on June 19th.
